BOTOX COSMETIC
Botox®Cosmetic, approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2002, is a proven, simple and effective minimally invasive treatment for the temporary relief of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows, forehead creases, crows feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck. These lines are the result of muscle movement that forms over time. Botox works by using Botulinum toxin, an agent that is injected into the underlying small muscles of the face to block nerve impulses, which reduces the movement of those muscles and reduces the appearance of wrinkles. With less movement, the skin surface gradually smoothes out and the moderate to severe frown lines begin to fade. Improvement can be seen within days and may last up to four (4) months, although individual results may vary. There is no recovery or downtime. DERMAL FILLERS
Restylane®is made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that already exists in the human body. A safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin and reduces facial wrinkles and folds, such as the nasolabial folds and adds fullness to the lips while maintaining its shape by using the body's own moisture. It is free from animal proteins. Restylane® is long lasting, but is not permanent. It generally lasts for about six months. Results can almost be seen immediately. Follow up treatments are typically scheduled at six month intervals. After the treatment, you may experience some redness or swelling at the injection sites, but normally lasts less than seven (7) days. ArteFill® is the first and only FDA approved non-resorbable dermal filler for the correction of facial wrinkles known as smile lines that provides enduring wrinkle correction. It represents a novel solution for those patients who do not want to return for repeat treatments with temporary fillers. 20% of the material in ArteFill® consists of tiny round, smooth microspheres that are about half the width of a human hair. The remaining 80% of the material is purified collagen that serves as a carrier gel for the microspheres. This gel is absorbed by the body while the microspheres provide the support your skin needs for long-lasting wrinkle correction. Juvederm®Ultra, a highly cross-linked formulation for more versatility in contouring and volumizing of facial wrinkles and folds and Juvederm®Ultra Plus, a more highly cross-linked and thicker gel for volumizing and correction of deeper folds and wrinkles. Perlane® is composed of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in your skin. Perlane® gives natural looking results while restoring your skin's fullness and giving your skin elasticity. Perlane® is approved by the FDA, is well tolerated, nonsurgical and longer lasting, usually lasting around six months. After treatment, you may have some swelling, redness, pain, bruising and tenderness but should not last longer than a week.
Collagen® Collagen injections are most often used to provide the patient with fuller, more defined lips, but also may be used to relieve deep nasolabial folds to smooth out, fill in, and reduce wrinkles and sunken acne scars.

BroadBand Light (BBL) also known as Intense Pulse Light (IPL) For the treatment of sun damaged skin or photo rejuvenation, vascular lesions and small unwanted blood vessels and pigmented lesions, BroadBand light therapy, also known as Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) may be the solution for you. As our skin ages due to excessive sun exposure and the decreased production of collagen, skin rejuvenation with BroadBand Light Laser Therapy (BBL) helps you maintain a fresher, younger appearance. BBL can make your face look smoother by removing age spots and diffuse redness and by improving your skin texture. Uneven pigmentation can also be reduced. BBL treatments are gentle, non-invasive and safe. No anesthesia is required and there is virtually no downtime and makeup can be applied right away. It is important to avoid tanning (sun, tanning beds or self tanning creams) before and during the treatment period, as your tanned skin will absorb more light and will make the treatment less effective. Laser Hair Reduction Our Sciton® ClearScan™ is a fast and effective method for easy removal of unsightly and unwanted hair with extremely positive reports from our patients. ClearScan™ contains an infrared laser that selectively targets hair follicles. Unlike other processes, by using this unique method will ensure that your skin is rapidly and evenly treated. You may experience some redness and slight swelling, however, this should subside within a few hours. There are three phases of hair growth, anagen, catagen and telogen. Only hairs in the active growth phase, anagen, can be sucessfully treated. Therefore, you may need to be treated 3 to 5 times at intervals of 3 to 8 weeks to achieve the desired results. SkinTyte® This non-invasive treatment utilizes the Sciton BBL (BroadBandLight) Laser that delivers a sequence of rapid gentle pulses to deeply heat dermal collagen. Fat Grafting This procedure uses the patient’s own fat, which is collected from an inconspicuous donor area. It is then utilized to fill in grooves, folds, or areas of soft tissue depression. The procedure is often used to minimize skin indentation, depressed scars, or deep wrinkles. Fat grating is also being used to successfully enlarge thin lips. Spider Veins An estimated 80 million adults in the United States are affected by spider veins, also referred to as telangiectasia or broken capillaries. They can appear anywhere on the body, most commonly found on the face and legs and look like red or purple sunbursts or web patterns. Although spider veins are hereditary, pregnancy and hormonal changes are believed to be contributing factors. We use two methods for removal of spider veins, one is called sclerotherapy. It is a safe and effective procedure that is performed in our office with minimal discomfort. A sclerosing (hardening) solution is injected with a very small needle into the vein which causes the vein to close up or collapse. Generally, this treatment may require multiple treatment sessions. The other procedure is with the use of our Laser. Laser therapy is a safe, non-invasive or non-surgical procedure to remove unwanted spider veins with no documented side effects. This laser procedure uses small beams of light energy aimed at a targeted vein. As a result of the heat produced by the laser, the vein will be treated and subsequently disappear. This treatment may take 30 minutes to an hour depending on the size of the area and the number of veins treated. Some patients may experience minor discomfort following the treatment, but we recommend you resume normal activities following the treatment. We typically ask that you wear a compression bandage and/or support hose for a few days following the treatment. Walking and moderate exercise may also help speed recovery.
